Smallmouth Bass
Captain Denny targets the waters of Rowleys Bay because it is less crowded than most areas in Door County and holds bountiful smallmouth. Rowleys is bordered by the undeveloped shoreline of Newport State Park and the Mink River Basin. Rocky shoals and deep pools provide smallmouth bass in Rowleys Bay with a near perfect habitat. The waters can be difficult to navigate but not for Captain Denny.
Smallmouth action remains good from mid-May into fall months during most years. Best fishing times are unpredictable as weather plays such a major factor. Minimum legal keeping size is 14 inches. Captain Denny supports catch and release to preserve the fishery, thus he will not allow keeping any fish above 16 inches. He will allow keeping one trophy fish 21 inches or over for mounting, not eating.
Walleye Pike
Walleye action is best on the Green Bay side of the Door County peninsula where waters are warmer than Lake Michigan. Green Bay waters are teaming with food for walleyes that make them grow fast and big. Fishing success is similar to Lake Erie.
Walleye pike normally start appearing in northern Green Bay waters mid-summer with excellent action through fall months. Trolling with artificial and live bait is the normal fishing tactic. It is much like trolling for salmon and trout. The minimum legal size is 15 inches. Returning fish over 25 inches is encouraged, but not required.

- The deposit is 90% refundable if notified 10 days or more in advance of the charter date.
- If weather conditions force trip cancellation (Captain's call), every effort will be made to either reschedule or refund deposit fully.
